Come See My World is a campaign that highlights the world of children living in poverty and how, in spite of their circumstances, they are still able to retain their child-like sense of optimism, wonder and hope.
The Campaign seeks to heighten awareness on the causes and effects of poverty on children and their communities, particularly on the five fundamental basics of life - Child Protection, Livelihood, Education, Health & Nutrition and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene.
As a child-focused international humanitarian organisation, our goal has always been to bring sustainable long-term change to the lives of children and communities living in extreme poverty. To do so, we realise the importance of heightening awareness of their needs and the ways in which we can all contribute towards changing their individual and communal lives.
We believe in the Rights of the Child and the most fundamental of these is the right to access the basic necessities. When children are fed, sheltered, schooled, protected, valued and loved, a community can be sustained and truly thrive.
The “Come See My World” campaign will undertake initiatives and activities aimed at contributing to, putting in place, and expanding the five fundamentals of community building.
The Campaign will be carried out in phases, starting with the launch of a coffee table book.
Working together with highly-acclaimed photographer, Chuan Looi, World Vision Malaysia has produced a 116-page coffee table book capturing different aspects of the lives of children and communities within selected projects that we support.
Travelling to our work in China, India, Laos, Lebanon, Vietnam and the Philippines, Chuan used his unique photographic talent to catalogue, pictorially, the lives of the children and communities he visited.
His photos captured the beauty, innocence and humanity of his subjects against the rawness and harsh reality of their surroundings. The “Come See My World” coffee table book is, inherently, a celebration of humanity and the resilience of the human spirit against all odds. The photos were shot from the perspectives of the communities’ children and imbued with an underlying sense of optimism and hope.
It is available to all with a minimum contribution of RM100* per coffee table book.
Postcards featuring Chuan Looi's photos are also available in sets of 3 each. Each set is available with a minimum contribution of RM10*.
Choose your preferred designs from 3 different sets, or collect them all at RM30*.
*Excluding delivery costs.
Proceeds will be channelled to World Vision Malaysia’s Education Fund to improve the quality of education and provide conducive learning environments for children in need.
