Faith for the Future Forum
How can faith and an emotionally connected church help young adults stay resilient to the challenges they face? Barna Group, in partnership with World Vision, embarked on a study to answer this question.
World Vision is an international Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation within God's mission mandate for the Church. We share the ministry of the Church to work with people in poverty and oppression, and bear witness to Jesus Christ.
World Vision’s commitment is to work with churches as indispensable partners. We are fully committed to work humbly with – and in the service of – the Church to fulfill God's mission in the world.
Every year, our theologically trained Church Relations team visits churches all over Malaysia to minister to congregations with the Word accompanied by heartwarming testimonies of God’s transformational work in the field.
We also offer multiple platforms for congregations to respond to the biblical mandate and exercise faith in prayer and action.
Through workshops in churches, World Vision Malaysia seeks to raise awareness and inspire people of all ages (from children to senior adults) to take action on topics like:
In recent years, various church congregations have organised interesting activities like car washes and cooking events to raise funds for World Vision Malaysia.
You can also encourage your church members to support our Child Sponsorship Programme, emergency relief efforts, ministry support and/or Gifts of Hope programmes through creative fundraising initiatives.

The Faith Effect: God's Love in the World
While Christian faith is personal, it is never private. Christians are called to participate in God's passion for justice and His concern for the vulnerable and oppressed. This five-session interactive bible study is designed to help Christians become more informed about issues of global poverty and injustice, from a biblical perspective.
*Contact us if your church would like us to facilitate the session. The material will be contextualized so that it will be a relevant exercise for our Malaysian participants.
The Hole in Our Gospel: What Does God Expect of Us?
Ten years ago, Rich Stearns came face-to-face with that question as he sat in a mud hut in Rakai, Uganda, listening to the heartbreaking story of an orphaned child. Stearns' journey there took answering God's call on his life, one that tore him out of his job in one of America's most prestigious corporations - to walk with the poorest of the poor in our world. He uses his journey to demonstrate how the gospel was always meant to be a world changing social revolution, a revolution that begins with us.
The Hole in Our Gospel: Group Study Guide
The Hole in Our Gospel Group Study Guide includes six sessions designed for small groups as well as individuals and small groups wishing to explore the question, "What does God expect of us?" Throughout the study, you will read excerpts from The Hole in Our Gospel. Although the study guide does not require reading the book, it can serve as a helpful companion to the study.
God of the Empty-Handed: Poverty, Power and the Kingdom of God
Jayakumar Christian argues that in order to provide sustainable solutions to powerlessness, poverty and oppression, it is critical to challenge and redefine power from the perspective of the kingdom of God. Only when we realise that we are all 'empty-handed' before God can broken relationships be restored. A must-read for any Christian interested in working for transformation among the poor!

Man of Vision
Bob Pierce, the founder of two of the world's most notable Christian ministries, was a man of intense spiritual passion and clear vision. This gripping biography balances Bob's tragic mistakes with the great achievements God accomplished through him. It shows how God's grace and power can accomplish amazing things through less-than-perfect human vessels. Today, World Vision and Samaritan's Purse bring physical and spiritual transformation to millions of desperately needy people around the world.
Inspire Justice: A 365-day Devotional on Poverty and Justice
Poverty, war, famine, disease; there are a lot of things in this world that are unsettling. While the solutions aren't always so clear to us, God's Word can be a frequent reminder that everything is under God's control and that in the end, he will bring justice to all who have been oppressed.
Journey to Jamaa
The award-winning short film Journey to Jamaa chronicles the incredible journey of two orphaned children, Margaret and Derick, who are forced to walk through dangerous and life-threatening situations in order to find their only remaining family. This true story produced by World Vision and shot on location in Uganda delivers a poignant and inspiring film in which a mother's dying wish sets her two children on the seemingly impossible journey to find a relative they don't even know.
