The Finance Manager oversees financial operations, planning, and reporting to ensure strong financial discipline, compliance, and decision support for World Vision Malaysia.
This role is responsible for driving financial accuracy, supporting strategic planning, and enabling managers to take ownership of budgets, while ensuring stewardship of organizational resources.
1. Financial Planning & Budget Management
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes across departments.
• Work closely with department heads to develop realistic budgets aligned with organizational priorities.
• Monitor budget utilization and provide regular variance analysis.
• Support managers in understanding and managing their budgets effectively.
2. Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Highlight risks, trends, and opportunities to the CFO and leadership team.
• Develop dashboards and reports to improve financial visibility.
3. Financial Operations & Controls
• Oversee day-to-day finance operations including accounting, payables, receivables, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies.
• Review and approve transactions within delegated authority.
4. Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, donor regulations, and internal policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely submission of documentation.
• Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
• Identify financial risks and support mitigation strategies.
5. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
• Monitor cash flow to ensure financial stability and operational continuity.
• Manage banking relationships and oversee payment processes.
• Support financial planning through cash flow forecasting.
6. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Support
• Act as a finance business partner to departments, providing guidance on financial matters.
• Support fundraising and programme teams with financial analysis and costing.
• Provide financial input into proposals, projects, and strategic initiatives.
7. Team Leadership & Capability Building
• Supervise and guide finance team members (Executives / Associates).
• Set clear expectations and ensure high standards of work quality.
• Build team capability in financial processes and systems.
• Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) is preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant finance experience.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and audit coordination.
• Experience in NGO or donor-funded environment is an advantage.
