MIDDLE EAST CRISIS RESPONSE

Support children in Lebanon impacted by the Middle East conflict now!

Since mid-September 2024, Lebanon has witnessed a severe escalation in violence, with large-scale airstrikes, shelling, and destruction of civilian infrastructure. The number of deaths has reached 2,000, including at least 127 children. Nearly 9,400 have been injured and over 1 million people have been forced to flee their homes. Schools are closing, with most being converted into collective shelters. These shelters do not have resources – including proper hygiene and protection arrangements. More than 155,600 people, half of them women and children, have sought safety at over 875 temporary shelters across Lebanon.

At present, all World Vision staff are safe and accounted for, and we are providing care and relocation support as needed to staff and their family members. The rise in conflict is now affecting more than 12,000 children across the areas where World Vision operates. The majority of child sponsorship activities have been paused and lifesaving activities are ongoing in all locations.

World Vision stands ready to support our teams and affected communities in Lebanon as needed. We are seeking to raise a total of 5 million USD (over RM21 million) to ensure we can continue to reach the most vulnerable affected by the conflict, including food, Non-Food Items (fuel, hygiene kits etc.) and protection interventions.

Here's how a generous contribution can help children and families in need:

• For around RM120 you can provide a family of 5 with a hygiene kit for one month.

• For around RM290 you can provide nutritious hot meals for one beneficiary for one month.

• For around RM290 you can provide a child with 12 Psychosocial Support sessions.

• For around RM990 you can sustain three families of 5 for one month with sufficient fuel for winter.

• For around RM8,260 you can provide electricity at night for one collective shelter over one month.

If you would like to give hope to those who are being affected by conflict, please donate to World Vision’s Middle East Crisis Response for Lebanon today.
