Water is essential for survival. However, women and children in developing parts of the world are still trekking 6km on average daily just to fetch water for their families’ consumption and use - water that is often contaminated with life-threatening diseases.
The World Vision Global 6K for Water is a worldwide run that provides life-changing clean water to those in need. Alongside your friends and family, you can walk or run to raise awareness on global water issues while supporting World Vision projects that give communities sustainable access to clean water.
Every step you take will make a difference in children’s lives, removing arduous journeys for them and enabling them to experience real and lasting change!
Date: 18 May 2025 (Sunday)
Time: 7:00am – 11:00am
Venue: Kepong Metropolitan Park
By participating in the Run, you are donating to support World Vision’s water, sanitation and hygiene efforts worldwide.
World Vision works closely with local communities to build up sustainable clean water solutions. This includes forming community groups that manage water resources, as well as teaching people about environmental protection, disaster preparedness, and adapting to climate change. Special attention is given to ensure that women and vulnerable groups have a voice in decisions about water and sanitation in their communities.
To make an immediate impact while building for the future, we provide essential supplies like hygiene kits to families in need and install water purifiers in local schools. We also work with local youth groups and community leaders to organise cleaning campaigns and improve waste management. Additionally, we help communities become more resilient by introducing drought-resistant crops and improving water wells with better equipment.
The World Vision Global 6K for Water is more than just a run; you’re helping to create a world where children don’t have to risk their health just to survive. Together, we can bring lasting change and give children the opportunity to thrive.

This includes forming water management committees, providing sanitation training, and conducting awareness campaigns on safe water practices. The funds will also provide hygiene kits, install water purifiers in schools, and organise cleaning campaigns and improve waste management. Additionally, World Vision will improve water access by upgrading wells and introducing sustainable water management practices, ensuring long-term solutions to clean water and sanitation issues while helping communities become more resilient. This will provide longer-term support for communities.
