You can help rebuild their school
What Happened?
In rural Sabah, 31 children arrived at Sekolah Kebangsaan Binanon early on 8 April 2026, only to find an entire wing of the building reduced to ashes.
A classroom block, hall, computer room, science lab, and sports storage room were lost in the flames.
With no immediate communication coverage, the fire was only reported hours later. Harsh roads and a three-hour journey also meant help arrived too late.
No lives were lost but their learning space was gone overnight.
The school sits within our Community Development Programme in Sook, Keningau, where we've walked alongside families for years. Today, all 31 children share the school's only remaining block, doing their best to keep learning.
They haven't given up. Neither should we.
We need to raise RM20,000 to provide 35 desks and chairs for the children. Each set costs RM570, including delivery to this remote area.
A fire took their classrooms. But it should not take their futures.
