At just five years old, Cheru often spent hours walking across a dry riverbed to collect water for her family, making the trip
before and after school. The lack of clean water affected her health and education.
Today, thanks to the support of people who care, Cheru, her family, and her community have safe water closer to home.
Why 6K? Because for children like Cheru in Kenya, the journey for water was part of daily life.
