Where the Funds Go

We work hard to ensure the resources entrusted to us are used as efficiently and effectively as possible to bring maximum impact to children and communities in need.

At World Vision, stewardship is integral to everything we do — we recognise that every resource entrusted to us can transform children’s lives. Every year, we produce an Annual Review to give an overview of our work throughout the year.

Past Annual Reviews are also available at the bottom of this page.

ACCOUNTABILITY AND GOVERNANCE

World Vision Malaysia is committed to ensuring the proper and responsible use of contributions received. All projects are appraised, managed and monitored by World Vision Malaysia according to strict cost control policies and audits that govern us as an international humanitarian organisation.

For the Financial Year 2021, 13.3% (RM7,082,051) of contributions received was spent on administration and overhead costs. The remaining 85.9% (RM45,633,399) was used to support community development projects, emergency relief and work by local charities. The remaining 0.8% (RM403,193) was carried forward into Financial Year 2022.

World Vision Malaysia’s Audit Committee comprising Board Members Datuk Ho Hon Sang, Emeritus Prof. Dr. P. T. Thomas and Esther Ong monitored the use of funds, reviewed financial statements and managed the appointment of our external auditor. In 2021, World Vision Malaysia appointed Russ Ooi and Associates to perform its annual financial audit.
